The AQI (Air Quality Index) is an index for reporting daily air quality. It tells you how clean or polluted your air is and what associated health effects might be a concern for you. The AQI focuses on health effects you may experience within a few hours or days after breathing polluted air.
We calculate the AQI based on the same conversion chart used by EPA Airnow with the exception that we use the real-time PM2.5 readings. What that means is the AQI value is also in real-time whereas Airnow AQI is based on 24 hours average.

PM stands for particulate matter (also called particle pollution): the term for a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets found in the air. Some particles, such as dust, dirt, soot, or smoke, are large or dark enough to be seen with the naked eye. Others are so small they can only be detected using an electron microscope.
Particulate matter contains microscopic solids or liquid droplets that are so small that they can be inhaled and cause serious health problems. Some particles less than 10 micrometers in diameter can get deep into your lungs and some may even get into your bloodstream. Of these, particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter, also known as fine particles or PM2.5, pose the greatest risk to health. For more information on Particulate Matter please refer to this article from the EPA: Particulate Matter Basics

Night Mode will turn off the LED light on the front of the Tracker for use at night. To enable Night Mode on the Tracker press the power button twice in quick succession. Alternatively, you can enable Night Mode in the app if you have your Tracker paired.

If you own a Plus purifier, place the Tracker into the base of the purifier and the Tracker will automatically start to charge. If you do not own a Plus and purchased the Tracker separately, slide your Tracker into the charging dock provided.

To pair your Tracker, select “Add a New Device” in the Devices tab. Then select “Air Quality Tracker” and then press “Begin Pairing”. Turn on your Tracker by pressing the power button located on the side of the device. In the app select “It’s on.”. Your app will now be searching for your Tracker. Press and hold the power button on the Tracker for 3 seconds until the LED light begins to flash a white light. Once the app and Tracker have successfully paired, the LED light on the Tracker will flash green.

There is a built-in clip on the back of the Tracker. Simply apply pressure to the indentation on the back of the device to open the clip and attach the Tracker to your clothing, bag, backpack, stroller, etc.

No, due to the random nature of air currents, air composition is constantly changing as air flows around you. If you find the refresh rate too frequent for your taste, simply lower it in the Wynd app and a more constant number will be displayed.
